Move-In Day Process

  • Save yourself a ton of lifting and carrying by bringing a dolly or a wagon!!
  • For July 1st move-ins, please park by the leasing office and in the parking structure in Building B.
  • August 19th move-ins, please park and unload in the parking structure according to the floor you live on. For example, if you live on A624, please park on the 6th floor. Here you will be able to unload for 20-60 minutes and then relocate your car to the lower level underneath building A.
  • Please respectfully follow the move in times assigned by last name so we can assist with your move-in process and make this transition as smooth as possible
  • Lastly, moving is stressful. We know that. To help mitigate this stress, and as noted below, please come during your scheduled time per the beginning of your last name. This will help ensure a smooth move-in process that doesn’t overwhelm the staff, stairways, and elevators and will make life easier for everyone.
  • Please bring a dolly or wagon like this. Your experience will be so much better if you do!

8am – 11am: Last Names beginning with A-F
11am – 1pm: Last Names beginning with G-L

1pm – 3pm: Last Names beginning with M-R
3pm- 5pm: Last Names beginning with S-Z

Additional Move-In Day Information

What to Expect and Other Considerations

  • Please drive through on the North end of the building on 800 south. There will be a desk there and an agent to welcome you. Here they will verify that your checklist is complete, hand you your move in folder and keys. From there you will turn left, then right and head up the parking structure to the appropriate floor. For example, if you live at unit A324 you will park on level three of the parking structure.
  • Move in appointments are assigned.
    • Late move in’s can be done by appointment, see below.
  • There will be several stations guiding you through move in; the process will take about an hour.
    • Paperwork, payments, portal, keys, etc.
  • To facilitate the process as quickly as possible, we ask that ONLY the resident move through the stations. We would appreciate if parents, guarantors, friends and family members could wait for the resident in the pool area to enjoy the snacks and vendors we will have on site!
  • There will be hundreds of people moving in on the same day as you, be prepared to wait in lines & please be patient!
  • U-Hauls or moving vans are not allowed to park under the carports. These types of vehicles are too tall and will cause damage to the structure and overhead solar panels.
  • NO overnight parking of moving vehicles is allowed.

Instructions and Tips

To make the move-in process as efficient and easy as possible, here are some helpful instructions and tips.

  • Ensure that your items are packed securely in boxes or containers that are easy to carry. Well-packed items allow you and our volunteers to move all of your items quickly and efficiently to your room. Do not pack your belongings in garbage bags.
  • Clearly mark all of your items with your first and last name to ensure your belongings are directed properly.
  • Don’t pack things in alcohol or liquor boxes.
  • Do not bring family pets with you.
  • Parking is extremely limited during the move-in weekend. Our unloading spaces cannot accommodate hitched trailers due to limited maneuverability. Therefore only ONE car is allowed per student for move-in.
  • Once you get your roommate assignment, contact them and discuss what large items each of you are planning to bring to campus. This way you can avoid overcrowding the room and having duplicate items!

PLEASE NOTE: At no time may you leave your car unattended in an unloading zone due to fire code.

Parking Information

Per your lease, if you do not have a parking permit at The Axis, you are not allowed a car on the property. All parking is assigned. Parking in a spot that you are not assigned will result in a car boot (wheel lock) or your vehicle being towed.

Upon move-in, you will receive a temporary parking pass from management. Please hang this on your rear-view mirror until you are given a permanent pass for the year.

To receive your permit, you must present your valid DMV Vehicle Registration showing that the vehicle is registered to YOU as the resident.

The permit types will be explained below.  You may park ONLY in your permitted parking area or space.

Different types of parking

  • Covered and uncovered Assigned Parking (referenced above).
    • For July 1st move-ins, parking will not be officially assigned until August 1st. You will need your temporary pass, however to avoid being towed or booted.
    • You must park in the Building B parking structure. Parking in the Building A parking structure will result in being towed or booted, as those are reserved by the 2020-2021 residents.
  • Unassigned Open Parking
    • This parking is for guests and located on the north-east end next to the clubhouse/leasing area and pool. Guests will need to stop by the management office and get a guest parking pass.
    • Some street parking is available s well on 800 south.
  • Future Resident Parking
    • This parking is not intended for current residents and is located on the east side of the leasing office.

Still need parking?

  • WE WILL SELL OUT NEXT YEAR, so secure your parking spot as soon as possible -especially when you renew your contract!!

Parking Enforcement

  • If someone is parked in your assigned spot, you should call University Parking Enforcement at (801) 377-8200.
  • All vehicles must have a parking permit while parked on our property, vehicles that do not follow our parking guidelines otherwise may be subject to tow.
